The Rutland Arms had its own brew house, and was a beer house from c1815. It was offered for sale as a free house in 1898, being sold for a price of £2,850 with an annual rent of £35. Shortly after it was bought by the Nottingham Brewery Co, eventually becoming a Tennants Brewery house until c.1959 when, like the adjoining buildings, it made way for the new road system.
