Re-opened as a bar after twenty years, the old Earl Howe Arms was totally gutted and refurbished as a modern restaurant/bar under the name Mobius circa 2001. Then was closed again for refurbishment in 2016,
According to Leicestershire Live (March 2019), building work began on the unused Mobius bar, to be turned into student accommodation.
