The upper façade, next to the Cricket Players, is the date 1771. The Windmill was trading in 1840s as of July of that year the licence was transferred from William Wheat to John Slawson. The pub consisted of smoke room, tap and parlour.
On the 24th of July 1876, the landlord was found guilty of allowing gaming on the premises. He was fined 3 guineas or fourteen days in prison.
Everards owned the Windmill for a period before selling it to Susan Tabbener of Wigston, circa1882. John Walker was victualler in 1900. It seems to have closed between then and World War I.
I think my great grandad was landlord of the windmill Inn in the 1850
