Two photos of Clarence Street – the whereabouts of either the Fox or Victoria are unknown, but many beerhouses became off licences in order to sustain trade.
The Victoria was Sold on the 16th of February 1839. as below.
To Publicans and others, Whole of household, together with the brewing equipment, vessels, 100gall copper, nearly new seats and screens, together with jib and sign and other effects of Mr Robert Hipwell on the premises by the sign of the Victoria Tavern. 16th feb 1839./
