John Flewitt listed as a beerhouse keeper, Crown Street 1841. Originally a beerhouse owned by Welch Bros brewery of St. Martins. we do not know if this was the forerunner to the Queen Victoria. There are no listings of it being called the Queen Victoria until-1875 Robert Collins was licensee before he moved to the Warden Arms, Robert Collins was the younger brother of John Collins of Leicester fish-market fame.. Thomas Allen would follow by 1880. The pub was to last another couple of decades and closed in the mid 1960s.
