A beer house only on the south East Side of Friday Street c 1869 George Rodwell owner and licensee, 9th of August 1873 it applied and was refused spirit licence.
George Rodwell was the still licensee, when he transferred his licence 1881 to John Hunt after repeatedly being turned down for a spirit licence over the previous eight years. Wm Simpson followed 1882 and Albert Hunt 1883.
By 1887 William Kirk was landlord. Thos Salt Brewery had now become the owners.
Dec 1894 Elizabeth Copewell 51 was sentenced to 14 days hard labour for stealing Charlotte Kirks the landlords wife’s spectacles at the Seven Oaks. William Kirk was still licensee at the turn of the century. 1902 saw Alf Muggleton landlord, 1909 John Worley. and 1925 James Thorne.
