Built by local builders Duxburys for Tennants Brewery.

The first landlords Ray and Marjorie Harlow had a Mynah bird ‘Billy’ that was adapt at swearing at the customers, Ray and Marjorie would move to the Dixie Arms Vaughn Way 1967. (Tim Harlow)

It was to be the only pub left bearing Leicester’s heaviest man’s name.  It survived less than fifty years until its demolition in 2006.

As with many estate pubs, the Daniel Lambert suffered problems with anti-social behaviour prior to its demolition.  It was replaced by a temporary mosque until a permanent one was built.
