GREAT CENTRAL RAILWAY, GREAT CENTRAL STREET

Refreshment rooms on the Great Central Station, gained a full licence in 1899.

Its official title on the application was London and North Great Northern Railway Co., King’s Cross London.

The bar failed to renew its licence on 14 January1924, after the government’s grouping of the ‘big four’ companies when the Great Central became part of LNER.

The refreshment rooms continued until the railway’s closure under the Beeching Act of the 1960s.
