Was born in Laurel Road as it was then in 1943. The highfields hotel (pub) was my local in the mid ’60’s. the Hotel had two small circular walls outside. Some great times and sadness from my younger year to1970, when I left the area
Hi I was born in Myrtle road and we moved to 80 Laurel Road circa 1955. We left in1961.
I well remember the circular “gardens” and the steep steps with a sloping top , down which we used to roll and smash glass milk bottles!!!
On the hotel side of the road , there was briefly a shop which sold chemistry sundries- saltpetre , sulphur etc etc I went to the Wyggeston Grammar until 1961
Pubs are not like that now
