Opened in October 2000, just after the Queen of Bradgate next door and, suffered the same fate – it closed sometime in March 2008. Too many pubs together: four in a row meant disaster for those two. It stood empty for two years before reopening as Red Hot Bar and Restaurant in 2014.
Didn’t seem to last long, after a few other restaurant ventures, a new licence bar opened Nov 2025.
Moonshine Speakeasy bar, based mainly on late night entertainment, with an outside area called Merchants Yard with entrance through Moonshine or rear of Freeschool Lane.
