The Tasting Room in 2015, as the Highcross Street entrance to Mayango. It is perhaps stretching the definition of a pub little far, but when it closed with adjoining St Nicholas Square buildings in 2018, it reopened in October 2019, as a cocktail bar.

It claimed to be the smallest bar in Leicester with a capacity of just twenty.

The owner of the trendy cocktail bar 63rd & First, Dave Tsouvallaris in March 2021 was jailed for ten years, for grooming and sexual assault on a 12-year old girl, (Leicester Mercury). He had previous convictions in 2015 for making indecent images of children, it does beg the question of how he managed to gain a licence, so it wasn’t too long before a new cocktail bar emerged in August 2021 called TOOTS & MAYTALS BAR.
