On the Eyres Monsell, built by Everards in 1959. A typical estate pub of the time, busy and well run. Like a lot more for some reason in the late 1990s and early 2000s it became over run with what the police described, as a gang of thugs who intimidated landlords. Six or seven licensees left over a three year period and his culminated in its closure late in 2005.

Closed and boarded up, Everards considered selling the pub. Instead, they refurbished and together with a consortium headed by licensee, Dave Tasler, reopened within a year with the intention of returning to a community pub.
Dave Tesler found himself before the courts in July 2010, charged with kidnap and torture of a Mr Foster of Fleckney. Fortunately for Dave, he was found not guilty when Foster was described in court as a fantasist.

Post Covid pandemic April 2022 the pub was left without a landlord, Everards advertised to let on a new lease. nothing materialised so a year later April 2023 the Glen pub was put up for sale with an asking price of Three hundred and seventy five thousand pounds.

Interior of the Glen.

All boarded up Oct 2023, another community pub seemingly lost, what the future holds we will see.
