Scarlet Pimpernel, built on the Eyres Monsell Estate, and opened in 1961.

1988 – Once again, the story of an estate pub in its decline: falling custom, wrong type of clientele keeping out good regular drinkers. Most of these Estate pubs lack any architectural merit. Landlords struggle to make a living so the downward spiral continues.
Later John Elliot took on the licence and stayed to revive the pub’s fortunes.

In 2005, after seventeen years at the pub, trouble started to break out again, with the result of temporary closure.
