c1830 Samuel Frearson was licensee

followed by c1840 Elizabeth Frearson. c1846 Thomas Shenton. c 1850 William Foster. 1855 J Mossendew. 1864 William Cross. 1867 Charles Culyer 1869 John Goffe, 1874 Robert Waddington, 1877 Eleanor Waddington also listed as owner, 1890 Edward Oldham Smith. the pub is now owned by Samuel Allsopp Brewery.

1908 Joseph Edwin Haynes was licensee, 1912 Edward Benjamin Burden Wrigley, 1924 Alfred Bramley, by now the pub ownership had been transferred to Brunt Bucknall & Co, (although there is a reference in licensing register from Smith Amusements Feb 1915).

We do know that shortly after Bass Ratcliffe & Gretton purchased the pub.

During the 1930s William Reynolds was landlord, Leonard Widdowson during the early 1940s, Frank Jones 1950s, Maurice Voakes and William Busswell also in the 50s and George Robinson late 50s until 1970s. (George & Gert ad from 1972)

Demolition soon started 1975, George & Gertie Robinson who had ran the pub for 18 years, finally called last orders on 16th March 1975, ‘end of an era’ ran the LM headline ‘another where you could get cosy round an open fire enjoying a good pint’ the Robinsons had previously ran the Victoria Southampton St for a decade prior to the Earl Howe.
