Built in 1863. Owned by local brewer Bates & Bishell from 1882, who eventually became LBM in 1891. The pub was delicensed in November 1946 and sold on for manufacturing and commercial use.

Bates, Son and Bishall who joined forces with Needham & Crick, Malsters of Church Gate to register as LBM. Note the eagle trade mark that moved with them to LBM.
