1970’s-80’s I believe it was a Wine Bar that went through a couple of names, 1982 became New Walkers Wine Bar, c1984 called Tipplers WINE BAR as seen in this book of matches kindly loaned by Steve Collishaw who confirmed the years. Sept 1985 fined £100 for overcrowding , legal limit 80 people, on previous occasions up to 200 were in at 1am, Gerald Collins had 4 previous convictions, the wine bar ceased and bankruptcy proceedings were under way.New Walk entranceLater New Walk entrance, with bright livery
Vin 1V opened circa 1989. Originally classed as a wine bar, it soon settled into ales as well as wines, attracting a cross section of ages -especially with the closure of the nearby Vaults in Wellington Street. The management took over Vin 1V and eventually called it Out of the Vaults. There was an entrance in New Walk the rear of King Street.
Out of the Vaults would be run by Paul Summers (ex-Vaults), from 2003. He was joined by Daksha Patel but eventually it went into liquidation, circa 2007.
The pub was reopened as Vin IV again, but this eventually closed in August 2009.
