Ran by Welch Brothers Brewery of Loseby Lane Leicester. The licensee in the 1890s was Henry Whatton who described himself as beer seller, shopkeeper, carriage builder and smithy.
That year an advert appeared in the local press:
“Wanted a shoeing Smith at once, apply Knighton Arms”
Francis Webb was licence holder from 1900 until at least 1920, when Welch Brothers sold out to Leicester Brewing & Malting., who in turn sold to Ansells in 1952. The deed of sale stated, ‘Shop and beer of formally known as the Knighton Arms.’
