
Moreland’s Brewery first obtained planning permission in April 1996.
The new façade behind the boarding’s is the name Wig & Pen. It wasn’t to last for long – if indeed it even opened under that name – as by February 1997, it was called Bar Baristo.
Mansfield Brewery were to purchase from Morelands, circa 1999, to roll it out as one of their ‘T P Woods’ brand.



All change again within a couple of years – now called Parody.




In February 2018, the Reynard closed, replaced by Head of Steam. This was one of quite a few up and down the country – usually top class outlets. Market Street, once a busy bustling walkway was by 201,8 going through a difficult period as many factors were changing the retail trade, leaving vacant shop premises and within a year the Head of Steam had closed. It was too an ambitious scheme in Market Street at a time when it was going through a rough patch.

Camerons Brewery – the owners reopen as a sports bar called the Sanctuary within a few weeks.

Giant screen, cheap shots – was this what Leicester wanted? Apparently, not as Sanctuary closed two months later in May 2018, the shortest time recorded thus far for a pub being open. Reopened as ‘Texas Steak House.’ This itself closed in October 2019.

Here we go again July 2023 after two years Olivers closed its doors, next in line is to be KATIE O’BRIENS Irish theme bar, what goes round.

Opened end of July 2023, seems to be full of ‘mock’ Irish signs and photos, one of a chain of Katie O’Brien’s, its all been done before.
