EARL MOIRA’S ARMS, NORTHGATE STREET OR NORTHGATE

Little is known on the Earl Moira.  Chris Pyrah has it sometime in 1815 -1870.  Not known whether it changed names.

1815 directory has William Foster as victular.

1818  Commercial Directory has E. Bailey as victualler.

Also recorded also in 1822 directory. E Bailey still victular

Mary Robinson’s letter to the Wyvern Newspaper on meeting in a Northgate Pub ‘Lord Tom Noddy’ she calls it, a nickname for which pub on Northgate I do not know, I only include it on Earl Moria page as he was a controversial Irish born politician.
