Part of the Saffron Lane Estate, the Tiger was built in 1955 by Everards Brewery.

As with many Everards pubs built on large grounds, it became more valuable as real estate. The Tiger closed circa 1982, and was demolished to make way for houses.

During the 1960s-70’s, the Tiger was a busy pub with one of the best pints of Everards around. This was partly due to its position, surrounded by working class houses (always a good sign), plus the drinking culture of the day kept the pumps flowing.
