Typical late 1950s pub architecture, often – as in the Shoemakers’ case – on new housing estates – The Shoemakers opened January 1958 with the licence transferred by Ansells from the Olive Branch, Willow Street.
In 2009, the landlady, Samantha Donovan, was ordered to pay over £1000 for showing illegal football matches on her television without a proper Sky contract.
This typical 1950’s architecture, Leicester has a few, The Mayflower another example, I once thought hideous, but over the years I have now a sneaking regard for. It certainly represents the period.
