Photo (Jack Graves collection) above taken during demolition of the Farnham Arms, which had been compulsory purchased in 1970.
Built in 1871, and stood on the corner of Farnham Street and Charnwood Street.
For many years prior it had been run as an off-licence, as did quite a few in this area, surviving as a beer house only for a short period after being built.
The Adnitt family seem to be its only recorded licensees, when Thomas held the licence until 1881 followed by Elizabeth Adnitt.
