At the Brewster sessions in August 1882, the licence was transferred from A. L. Goodrich to J. Hird.

Subsequent directories list J. Hird, as beer retailer and shopkeeper.

By 1920, Frank Randall was just listed as a shopkeeper.

This also was demolished in the early 1970s.

Chris Pyrah writes;

This beer seller seems to have been just an offie, The place took its name from the Leicester Rifle Volunteers rifle range in nearby Spinny Hills area officially opened 1879. The Rifle Butts pub on Nottingham Rd was named after the same range opened a couple of years later.
