LIME KILN, PAINTER STREET/BELGRAVE GATE

Chris Jinks in his researching deeds came across a pub circa 1854, in Painter Street off Belgrave Gate called for a short time called the Lime Kiln Inn.

Further research in old newspapers found there was Lime Kilns at the wharf Belgrave Gate in 1818.

1837, Barrow & Crick advertised Lime at reasonable terms at Swanwicks Wharf orders received at Coal office and the LIME KILN INN Belgrave Gate. (Below Lime Wharf).

1848 Auction of 20 tons best Barrow lime for sale at the LIME KILN Inn in Belgrave Gate.
