FLINT ARMS, FLINT STREET

(photo Jack Graves collection)

The Flint Arms is first mentioned in a newspaper article of 1879, when the licence changed from James Curshaw to George Clarke.

In November 1886, from Mrs. M. Statham to Mr. A. Coombes.  January 1888 from Coombes to Edmund Redhead.

Listed as 66 Flint Street/Charnwood Street crossover, later Upper Charnwood Street.

As with many in this area off Charnwood Street, the Flint Arms was short lived and became an offie.  This photo shows the former Flint Arms shortly before demolition.
