Opened in 1929, by All Saints Brewery with licence transferred from the PAV (Pavilion Theatre) in Belgrave Gate.
It boasted a ‘Gentlemen only’ smoke room

The pub was put up for sale in 1997 and fetched over £200,000 with many donations from the city’s Sikh community. Planning permission was granted and the Old Gypsy Lane Hotel became a Sikh temple called Shri Guru Dashmesh, after one of main gurus of the Sikh faith.
What a sad end. It was a lovely pub.
