HOLY FRIAR, Bath Lane

October 1838, Edward Kilburn of the Holy Friar beer house, Bath Street (Bath Lane), was fined for opening during Sunday Divine Service. He was reprimanded after complaints had been made to the police by respectable people of serving ale during divine service and running a disorderly house, fined £1.
