QUEEN’S HEAD, 8-10 APPLEGATE STREET

A for sale notice in December 1859 in Leicester Chronicle states:

‘All that messuage or tenement called the Queens Head in Applegate Street in the occupation of Thomas Foxon.

As the address is the same this would suggest that the Generous Duke became the Queens Head during the 1850s.

In 1870 the beer house known as the Queens Head, was listed in Applegate Street.
