One entry in the 1880 directory, and in 1883 Frank Mapperson was running the Bakers. This was presumably named after his trade as he is listed as a Baker and Beer house keeper.
Job Jarman had taken over by 1890, he too listed as baker
and beer retailer. 1900 saw Miss Louisa
Wright, now as shopkeeper and beer retailer, sometime over the previous few
years it seems to have become an off-licence.
