BREWERS ARMS, BRITANNIA STREET

There is a reference to a Brewers Arms in Britannia Street on the 15th of November 1833, when John Hefford was charged with serving customers after hours, but two witnesses were called to verify he was in bed at the time. Case dismissed.

In October 1838, Stephen Brown, of an unnamed beer house in Britannia Street, was fined for opening during divine service on a Sunday.
