TERMINUS – TERMINUS HOTEL, 16 CAMPBELL STREET

Joseph Gray held a beerhouse licence c1870. A license was granted to Charles Horsefall circa 1873 at the Terminus Hotel, for a beer license on condition that the premises were used as a luncheon bar only. Cock & Langmore were the owners, later becoming the All Saints Brewery. By 1882 Thomas Budworth was licensee.

Renewal of the license was refused in 1912.  Compensation was paid – £688-16 to All Saints, with £185 going to the tenant John Simpson, All Saints brewery claimed the Terminus was doing good trade, but due to the special circumstances that the licence was granted in the first palace ie next to the nearby Station entrance in Campbell St, now the Station entrance was in London Rd that no longer applied.

Other licensees were: 1898, George Vickers. 1905, John Low. 1906, James Lewitt and lastly 1911, John Simpson.
