Bentley’s Bar opened in 2006 in the old courts ironmongers’ shop that had been there for decades.
Church Gate had become the centre for late night clubs and bars which bore little in common with traditional pub culture, neither lasted long. This picture (see below) from December 2013 shows it all closed and up for lease.
