Situated in the Rushy Mead area of Leicester, on the corner of Lockerbie and Gleneagles Avenue. One of two Home Breweries of Nottingham in the City the other Gipsy Lane Hotel on Gipsy Lane

Built in c1972 designed by the well known Nottingham architect Thomas Cecil Howitt OBE who had died a few years earlier, Howitt was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Leicestershire Regiment awarded DSO in first war, he was a Nottingham boy who became the City architect, famous for many landmark buildings including the Home Brewery in Nottingham

This well crafted Jan 2023 photo of the Royal Leicesters by Kiran Palmer shows perfectly Howitts 1960s architectural style with similar lines to his Home Brewery design above.

The Home Brewery was acquired by Scottish and Newcastle 1986, sold the Royal Leicesters, circa 2005.

The Royal Leicesters is still open for business as of writing, but now mainly as an Indian Restaurant
