WINSTANLEY HOUSE, HINCKLEY ROAD/BRAUNSTONE

Winstanley House, originally set in 165 acres, used mainly for weddings and events.

The ex Winstanley family home, was built in 1776, and was known as Braunstone Hall, bought by Leicester Corporation in the 1930s, to build a new housing estate.  The hall itself served as a school for many years.

It opened circa October 2017 after tasteful refurbishment, retaining its classic features, with a modern twist to the bar.  The Big Iron Restaurant and Bar is open to the public.

The owners, Naresh & Kiran Parmar, have also refurbished sympathetically the City Rooms, Belgrave House & Western Park Pavilion in Leicester. They show what can be done to retain Leicester’s historic buildings.
