Opened in 1997 by Bass under it’s a ‘scream’ banner, targeting students.
In April 2003, it was transferred to Mitchells and Butlers (another arm of Bass). They in turn disposed of their ‘scream’ pubs to Stonegate Pub Co., a major player in the bars sector with over 600 pubs. Seven were in Leicester: the Dry Dock, Yates, the Friary, Polar Bear and Slug & Lettuce as well as the Loaded Dog.
