FLYING CUPZ – POLSKI BAR – LONDON BAR – ROCKIN DINER, 48 NARBOROUGH ROAD/SAXON STREET

Possibly pushing it a bit to include these in pub history.  Classed as café bars, they just as likely fall into the café bracket but are recorded here as testimony to changing tastes in drinking.

Polski Bar.  The window in Saxon Street says Corner café bar, in Narborough Road window Sa Rogu, which means the same in Polish. Photo above taken in 2007.

The London (this pic 2009) replaced Polski Bar in 2008.  This definitely was more of a café, although it survived a few years before being taken on by a restaurant chain, the Rockin Diner (photo below taken in 2014).
