TRIMMERS ARMS, OXFORD STREET

The only mention of the Trimmers Arms beerhouse was in June 1839, when landlady Margaret Doyle was fined £2 for having people in her house between 4-5 am on a Sunday (LM).

This was more than likely the infamous landlady that ran the Blue Cock Orchard St earlier that decade, in 1841 census she is listed as aged 60 living here with James Doyle 15, Margaret Doyle also lists herself as grocer. So it certainly fits as beerhouses often doubled up as grocers.
