BABELAS, 77 QUEENS ROAD

Opened circa 2003 as Babelas Continental Bar.  Just a shop front room with upstairs drinking but the rather compact space added to the atmosphere.

It became popular with a cross section of locals, including real ale drinkers as there was three different class real ales plus an array of selected wines, lagers and continental beers.  This seemed to make this with Dos Hermanos the mainstay for Queens road drinkers.

Babelas changed hands in 2022 after almost 20 years when Geoff decided to look to retire, the new owners of Babelas were from the nearby Verandah bar.
