MR ROBERTS (BEER SHOP), BEGRAVE GATE

June 1837, the Mr Roberts beer shop in Belgrave Gate was reported for illegal hours drinking.

December 1838: 

To be sold at auction. Beer shop, Brewhouse, Kitchen, Stables for 5 horses, situate at the top of the hill opposite the George Hotel. In the occupation of Mr John Roberts. There is also a right of road at the back of the premises over the adjoining yard, The property is well worthy of attention as it stands in the best part of town, the premises are exceedingly convenient and may easily adapted to any wholesale or retail trade.
