The ad posted above appeared in the Leicester Journal in August 1775.
This is the only mention of a Leather Bottle we have come across with at that period is in Church Gate. although in the 1739 Recognizance orders a Leather Bottle alehouse is also recorded, but no address was given.
The Leather Bottle in Holy Bones and St Nicolas St comes much later. so it is possible a name change happened to the Church Gate alehouse sometime after this sale.
