From circa 1870 John Mapperson ran his corner store, gaining an off-licence in 1877, calling it the Sileby Arms

Mapperson was still here in January 1884, when in his wife, Susan, died. John immediately put the property up for sale, but as an off-licence, although it was listed as the Sileby Arms.

1897 Acquired by Robinsons Brewery Burton Upon Trent together with adjoining property no 27 Marston St, before being bought out by Ind Coope brewery in 1929 (Chris Jinks).
