THE EXCHANGE, 50 RUTLAND STREET

Cassie Davison, late of the Entropy, on Hinckley Road, transformed this beautiful Victorian designed building, turning it into a multi facet bar-café-venue. Sitting at the opposite end of the building from Manhattan 34, there were relaxing quiet spaces, a busy bar plus cellar bar for hire, with hand pulled real ale kept in good condition.  This was one of the best examples of a modern bar, placed opposite the Curve Theatre.

Housed in an architectural gem, it ticked all the boxes and it was this very sad to see it suddenly closed by the property owners October 2019, after a disagreement over funding. Thankfully, the Exchange re-opened and is now very much back for business.
