The word “vegan” was coined by Donald Watson of Leicester’s Vegetarian Society circa 1944 as a contraction of vegetarian.
The undergoing work started sometime in September 2022 and the Vegan bar opened in November 2022.
The Donald Watson’s Vegan Bar has a unique interior, parts of an Old Morris Oxfords decorates the wall of the bar. As of writing, it is the only vegan bar in the whole of the UK.
